Dr. Justin Arner (Pitt Ortho '19), of UPMC Burke and Bradley, was listed as a Castle Connolly "2023 Rising Star" in Becker's Orthopedic Review. This list recognizes early-career physicians across several specialties for their accomplishments. Physicians for the Rising Star list are nominated by their peers. Dr. Arner was chosen as a top-rated orthopaedic surgeon in the UPMC system based on patient reviews for 2020 and is a team physician for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as his prior experience with the US Ski and Snowboard Team. He has also provided medical care for numerous high schools.
