Michael Collins, PhD
The UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program directed by Michael (Micky) Collins, is the premier concussion program in the United States. The primary mission of the program is to set the “standard of care” for evidence-based assessment, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with concussion. The program employs a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to concussion. This constantly evolving approach integrates established and emerging risk factors and comprehensive injury assessment protocols to determine clinical trajectories that inform targeted treatment pathways. The program includes an interdisciplinary team of neuropsychologists, neurologists, neuroradiologists, PMR and sports medicine physicians, rehabilitation and vestibular therapists, and researchers working together to advance the “standard of care” for patients with concussion.
