Department of Orthopaedic Surgery

Welcome New Faculty!

Please welcome Dr. Natalie Sandel Sherry and Dr. Joel D. Himes to the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. 

 

Dr. Natalie Sandel Sherry joined the department as an Instructor in the Division of Sports Medicine/Concussion effective July 23, 2018.  Dr. Sherry received her MA and PsyD from Widener University, Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology, and earned her MBA from Widener University School of Business Administration.  She completed internships in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Temple University and the Department of Neurology at the Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania.  She recently completed a neuropsychology postdoctoral fellow under the direction of Dr. Micky Collins at the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program.  Dr. Sherry will see patients at UPMC Rooney Sports Center, Children’s South (South Fayette), and the Children’s Community Pediatrics (Pine Office).

 

 

Dr. Joel D. Himes joined the department as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Primary Care Sports Medicine effective August 1, 2018.  Dr. Himes received his DO degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He completed residency in emergency medicine at Saint Vincent Mercy Medical Center and recently completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship here at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.  Dr. Himes will see patients at UPMC Rooney Sports Center, UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, Children’s South (South Fayette), and UPMC Bethel Park.  He will also serve as Team Physician for Robert Morris University.
