Johnny Huard, PhD, receives Kappa Delta Ann Doner Vaughan award

At the 2018 AAOS Annual Meeting, former faculty member, Johnny Huard, PhD, was honored with the Kappa Delta Ann Doner Vaughan award for work performed at Pitt. 

Dr. Huard presented his award-winning paper, “Adult Stem Cells, Blood Vessels, and Angiogenesis: Major Determinants for Musculoskeletal Tissue Repair After Injury, Disease, and Aging,” as part of the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Orthopaedic Research Society. 

Dr. Huard previously served as the Henry J. Mankin Professor and Vice Chair for Musculoskeletal Cellular Therapeutics, and Director of the Stem Cell Research Center, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and Deputy Director of Cellular Therapeutics Research at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, at the at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, until joining the faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) in May 2015.
