The North American Spine Society (NASS) produced a “Paths to Leadership” video about diversity and promoting women into leadership roles. Interviewed in the video are Dr. Gwendolyn Sowa and Dr. James Kang.
Dr. Gwen Sowa is an Associate Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and holds a joint appointment in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Sowa also serves as Co-Director of the Ferguson Laboratory for Orthopaedic Research.
Dr. James Kang was the former Executive Vice Chairman for Clinical Services, tenured Professor of Orthopaedic and Neurological Surgery, Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, UPMC Endowed Chair in Orthopaedic Spinal Surgery, and Director of Ferguson Laboratory Musculoskeletal Research Center for Spine Research in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Kang now serves as the Chairman of of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School, in Boston, Massachusetts.
