ASES (American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons) Traveling Fellows visit October 4-5, 2016

The ASES (American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons) Traveling Fellows visited Pittsburgh on October 4-5, 2016.  Dr. Mark Baratz hosted their visit.

The ASES traveling fellows are:

Kotaro Yamakado, MD, PhD
Department manager of Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics
Fukui General Hospital, Japan

Satoshi Oki, MD, PhD
Department of Orthopedics and Department of Biomechanics
Keio University School of Medicine, Japan

During their visit, the traveling fellows visited the Rooney Sports Compex, Pitt training room, Pitt Championship trophies, Biodynamics Lab, and also attended Grand Rounds.

The ASES Exchange (Traveling) Fellowship Program was established in 1993.  The goals of this program are to provide maximum exposure to the major shoulder and elbow centers in the US and in Europe, facilitate learning and best clinical practices in shoulder and elbow patient care, and enhance surgical skills and competencies among international surgeons.

Dr. Mark Baratz is a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and serves as the Program Director for the Hand Fellowship Program.
